Are We Living in the End Times?

A simple Google search led to something I found very funny. My attention was caught by a headline for a link, “Do you believe Jesus will return to Earth?”

Yes, yes, I do. But do others?

This article was from December 2022, and it was a Pew research poll asking U.S. adults that simple, yet complex and extraordinarily important question: Is Jesus returning to Earth? (You know, just the question, is the Creator and God of this Earth gonna, you know, come back, ever? Not a big deal).

What I came across was so funny I had to share it. The Google search was “are we in the end of times?”

The fact that others believe we’re close to the end, as I do, did not surprise me, or make me laugh.

What made me laugh, was this:

That’s one confused atheist.

For the record, “Atheist – a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods.”

“Agnostic – a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena; a person who claims neither faith nor disbelief in God.”

So I guess the agnostic through some mental gymnastics could say they believe Jesus Christ is coming back to earth.

But man, do I want to meet that atheist! I have a lot of questions.

So, are we living in the “End Times?”

I think undoubtedly, we are. I go back and forth on how soon that will be. For the record, we’ve been in the “end times” for decades. This is the last dispensation, and we know it will happen soon. Soon is a relative term and whether soon is 5 years or 100, it will still be soon. I have a hard time believing this system we find ourselves in can last much longer. How much longer can greed, corruption, war, and famine last before the system falls apart?

I’ll stop there. Beth tells me I’m being depressing with this topic again. Until next time.

    claims of the “end times” have been made for 2000+ years and are no more than the sadistic fantsies of cultists. Happily, those will always fail. This nonsense would be far less popular to make claims about if christians treated false prophets like their god commands.

      The thing with prophesy is it very often doesn’t get fulfilled when we would it expect it. I love the ongoing joke The Chosen television show made with the Jesus Christ character responding “soon” whenever his disciples would ask Him when something would happen. That said, we’re living in an age of fulfilled prophesy so it’s easier to see now. I’m quite proud of modern day prophetic revelations that have turned out to be true. As with all things, it takes a measure of faith to believe. My miracle is another person’s coincidence. Thank you for reading and thank you for the comment!

        The thing with prophecy is that it is never fulfilled at all. It seems that what you consider an ongoing “joke” is just the dodging of a fraud.

        Christians have been claiming that every “age” is one of fulfilled prophecy, and that shows how christians contradict each other. These supposed prophecies have been claimed as fulfilled repeatedly for the last 2000+ years and they still haven’t been.

        Funny how not a single “modern day prophetic revelation” has turned out to be true and it is notable how you can’t name a single one, Brayden.

        Yep, what you claim as a miracle is indeed just a coincidence since you can’t show your god exists at all.

        I would love to provide some fulfilled prophesies, thank you for asking! I’d direct you to reading D&C Section 87. Linked here for your convenience. That’s the easiest and most obvious one.

        Though more subtle, I think The Family A Proclamation to the World from 1995 was prophetic.

        Another subtle one, I think emphasizing a home-centered church 18 months before Covid shut down public meetings was prophetic.

        Unsupringly, all you have are stories of prophecies being made and prophecies being fulfilled. So your nonsense fails yet again.

        Oh dear, you are in an even more ridiculous form of christianity, you are LDS and you have the hilarious garbage of your imaginary friend sending imaginary magic glasses and imaginary golden plates to a known fraud.

        funny how your D&C had section 87 added after the civil war, so you are quite a fraud too, Brayden.

        the family nonsense is the typical vague garbage that you can’t show happened.

        and your hilarious lies about a home centered church fails since christianity started as that and curious how your LDS has ignored such things with its temple in Utah.

        First, thank you. It appears you did at least open the links I provided. Not positive they were read, but it’s better than nothing.

        I am a bit disappointed, though. After I read that you wrote this, “I am smart, likely know something about just about anything and I don’t tolerate willful ignorance” I had hoped you would put in some real effort. But all you did was go to the first Reddit page? Yes, the Section 87 revelation was added to the book the Doctrine and Covenants 1876 edition. But it was written in 1832 and the historocity of that is hard to deny. Additionally, the revelation was included in the Pearl of Great Price 1851 edition (10 years before the Civil War).

        Wow, nothing like a christain who has to constantly poison the well. No matter.

        I opened the links and I read them. That I don’t agree with your claims isn’t showing that I’ve not read them, something that you seem to be assuming.

        Curious how section 87 shows no evidence of being written in 1832 at all, and again, just appears after the events happened that it claims to “predict”. I put in real effort when I did some research on your claims and those claims weren’t supported. So the supposed “historicity” isn’t hard to deny at all. I do see it’s in the Pearl of Great Price, which again shows no reason to believe that it was written in 1832, and at that time we already could see how the states were wanting to split over slavery. No prophecy, just a fraud who saw which way the wind was blowing. Notably the Fugitive Slave Law was put in place in 1850.
        “The Fugitive Slave Act or Fugitive Slave Law was a statute passed by the 31st United States Congress on September 18, 1850,[1] as part of the Compromise of 1850 between Southern interests in slavery and Northern Free-Soilers.
        The Act was one of the most controversial elements of the 1850 compromise and heightened Northern fears of a slave power conspiracy. It required that all escaped slaves, upon capture, be returned to the slave-owner and that officials and citizens of free states had to cooperate.[2] The Act contributed to the growing polarization of the country over the issue of slavery.         Your church is no more “restored” than another version of Christianity. Curious how not one of you can do what jesus promises, showing either that your cult is just as much of a failure as the rest and/or your god doesn’t exist.
